<p>Since most admitted freshmen will submit their housing choices by today, I was wondering when we would find out where and who we are living with? Also if we meet our roommate before the school year starts and find out we are not going to be a good match, can we switch before the school year even starts?</p>

<p>Res Halls will do their housing lottery sometime this month and have room assignments/roommates information sent out by early June- before SOAR. They found that random roommate assignments worked just as well as using questionnaires and trying to match students. Call/email Res halls with your question about changing roommates before school even begins. Remember that you getting a different roommate impacts not just the two of you, but another set of roommates who may or may not want you instead of their originally assigned roommate. You do not have to be friends with your roommate- all you have to do is have mutual respect for the other’s use of the shared room. Students also change from their at home/HS/childhood self once they start college.</p>
