Housing Questions

Hi. I finally committed to emory a few days ago.(Yay!) However, I have a few questions about housing that I was confused about. I will really appreciate if any current or alumni students at emory could answer my questions! Thanks in advance!

  1. Is it hard to get a single room? I put it as my preference but what are the chances of actually getting one because I know scholars and athletes have first choice, basically.
  2. I havent heard anything about Raoul Hall. I am really hopig I get put in there since its the newest housing building, although I know they assign you your building… Do you guys have any idea about the environment at Raoul is like?
  3. Do you recommend me to use the roommate search questionnaire on myhousing even if i put single room as my preference?
    Thanks!

@soonincollege3 :

  1. Yes, limited so difficult
    On 2) Come on…You simply want the newest? Do you understand that most of the dorms affiliated with the freshman village (Turman, LSM, Hamilton, and Turman) essentially have the same architecture and newness and even the older freshman dorms have been renovated to be quite nice (seriously, compare them to older dorms at many peer and non-peers…you likely will not find modern interiors that somewhat resemble the newest dorms). The primary difference is what theme they have. You should go and explore that and perhaps decide based on that. What are your values and academic interests. That will determine what them/environment you may be interested in.
  2. Yes…
  1. Yes.
  2. No.
  3. Yes.
  4. Live and let live.
