I'm an incoming freshman of the class of 2018, and myself and three other girls decided we wanted to have a quad together in Donlon, one of the residential halls. So we put together the housing application and submitted it. However, when I visited the campus recently, a girl told me that we would most likely end up in the townhouses, since Donlon only has 5 quads. I'm kind of panicking, because I do NOT want to live in a townhouse (I want the experience of living in a dorm on a floor with a bunch of other people, making friends, stuff like that) and I'm 100% against the idea of being stuck out in isolation in a townhouse. Should we break up and just request doubles instead? How likely is it that we'll be moved to a townhouse? I heard that if you request a roommate you get priority over kids who do random (not sure if that's true or not) but I'm really stressing about this. Please help!!

You should call the Housing office- they could give you a better idea of what would be your best options. No one outside of their office would know for sure if roommates get preference or not.

I don’t think very many people choose Quads, so you might have a pretty good shot. Plus, there are only 10 or so Townhouses.

On the housing application, didn’t you list room options in order of preference? I guess you put Quad first, but as long as you didn’t put Townhouses second I don’t see why they would stick into one.
