Just got my housing info with roommates.......2 roomies have 1507-E, and I and two other roomies have 1507-W.....I'm assuming this is a suite with a common room correct? This is at Brittany btw...

You got it in the mail?

yea, mail....i'm from jersey...it's in the mail...ppl

my friend from jersey got it too...we requested to be with each other..but in her letter, we're not...we are super ****ed. can we do anything about this? we even called to confirm that we're together 2 weeks ago nd they said we were.

on top of this...she supposedly has a suite mate who is a junior..is that possible? i thought freshmen can't dorm with upper classmen. plus she's in 3rd north..isn't it only a freshmen dorm? boo.

maybe they confirmed the fact that you asked for each other...and i didnt get my friend either....it happens...they cant accomodate all 7,000 or so freshmen individually...

I'm from Jersey as well. But I won't be home to get the mail. :(

imcool...I would call right away about this. I don't have the answers. My D was a freshman last year and she requested a roomie and got it and she was in Third North and it is definitely ALL freshmen, so something doesn't sound right about that second part about the junior roomie, but also because they confirmed the roomie match up on the phone two weeks ago.

Hmm, I live in NYC and I didn't receive anything in the mail!

I got mine. Not quite what I was hoping for but whatever.

What did you get?

OH! You guys must be so excited! :):)

Would you guys be nervous to live on Cliff Street or downtown because of the event of 9-11? I didn't think i would be and i am, any advice?

no i dont think theyll hit the same place if that happens again, which I hope not! dont worry - enjoy NYU
I also requested to live with my friend, we both got U hall but we dont know our room numbers yet and did not receive any letter, but I was pretty sure we were roommates, since we both got Uhall..until I read the posts above:(

California is in.

Turns out... my roommate lives about 30 minutes away from me and went to my high school's rival school. We're both in Tisch. Yep. Two Tisch guys from the Los Angeles area that went to private all-boys institutions within 15 miles of each other. Way to mix things up, NYU.

At least he sounded fairly normal (or as abnormal as my standards go--however you want to look at it) on the phone.

AHHHHHH REALLY!?!

itsallverbage-- im from LA too, and is it really here?! wow...i've been sitting around waiting for mail, and nothing...

if you have a letter next to the room number does that mean you're in a suite?

Not necessarily, mine has an E but isn't a suite.

Is it possible to take a look at the dorm rooms before moving day, possibly with a parent? I'm in 3rd north, just want to see how the rooms are arranged so I can at least prepare baggage beforehand. And if it's a suite.

If it isn't, does that mean we get screwed out of all the amenities??

No, they won't let you in to see the dorm before move in day. Isn't all of 3rd North apt. style?

So, I got my stuff and my number is wrong on my roommate info! I guess I'll have to call them up tomorrow.
