@yellowgranite56: Definitely make sure you pay the $25 as soon as she applies to the university. I applied “early” (October 3) and I got the last room in the hall I wanted, and most of the rooms left the next day were triples. So applying in August would definitely be ideal so she can choose from any of the halls to live in.

Only 48 spots left for males…
For girls…all doubles have only 1 spot left, there are many triples with 2 or 3 spots left…

@2013cheer and dflorida … didn’t even know that you could put a deposit down when you apply. Thought you had to be accepted first. Thanks for the tip. $25 is worth the chance to reserve even if she doesn’t end up going there. She is hoping for Northeastern or Vanderbilt but it all comes down to $$. We have the FL prepaid and she’ll get the full amount of Bright Futures (sadly, that used to totally cover tuition … what is it now … 1/2?).

Not even 1/2…

For the Academic Scholars you get $100.00 per credit hour
For the Medallion Scholars you get $75.00 per credit hour

It costs 6,690.00 for 30 credit hours according to their website so that is $223.00 per credit hour

So if there’s no two spots open in doubles for girls, what should my roommate and I do? Our date to pick a room is April 26th and we don’t care which dorm, but we don’t want a triple. I’m just nervous that we won’t be able to be roommates :/

you can maybe try to get rooms near each other and ask the other two roommates if they are willing to swap

Or you will have to keep watching and hope a double with 2 spots opens up

You can also try to get in a Late Application Triple…these rooms they try to make doubles when cancellations and transfers occur

Read more about the different types of triples near bottom of page:

So what are the chances of still getting a room in Graham? My selection date is the 24th. Anyone know ow often rooms open up at later dates?

How do I find out my selection date?

It is the day you paid the 25.00 fee(that is the Application date) and here is the list that breaks it down:[Fall » Housing & Residence Education » University of Florida](http://www.housing.ufl.edu/undergrad/apply/fall/)

How long did it take you guys to pick a room? like were there any lags due to high volume like the acceptances? I have to leave for work at 3:30 so I wanted to make sure I had time, also did it work on a cell phone or did it require flash?

My son picked his on his Samsung Galaxy while I looked up where the available spaces were on my iPhone. It took him about 15 minutes since his first choices were full but he did it Saturday morning because there had been an issue with his contract so don’t know how busy it is at 3:00.

After todays picks there is 22 spots left for males and 150ish left for females

Is their any double spots open for females, with one open spot or two spots?

There are some doubles with one spot open. and some economy triples that have up to all three spots open.

Is it possible to request a triple with 2 of my friends? I know I’m able to request 1 roommate but what about 2? My second potential roommate starts in summer and my first roommate & I both start fall, so can we “pull her” into our dorm when we pick this Friday for fall?

She is on a wait list for Fall btw

You can only request/add a roommate if they have been offered a contract and paid the 200.00…that is my understanding, anyways.

Just curious what was the point of filling out the preferences if we weren’t going to come close to getting them due to a late date?
