Housing Roommate and Official Room Assignment?

This is speculation. However, does anybody think that housing is going to post up roommate assignments this week?

I looked in an older thread about housing assignments and I found the website used that time. The website to check roommate assignments at that time was http://www.housing.berkeley.edu/Move_in_2007/roominfo.htm.

This website was accessalbe a few days ago, but now, it does not work (HTTP 404) now. Could this mean that housing is preparing to give roommate assignments?

I called housing and they said sometime first week of August. Last year it was August 3rd, but we were able to get into our rooms almost a week earlier last week than this. Last year we moved in on the 19th; this year the 24th, so you do the math.

The 2008 unit letter is up, but dates for 2007 are on it. I think housing is getting ready to post roommate info.

Only the 2007 dates are on it and it's not updated, yet: UC Berkeley Fall 2008 - Residence Hall Move In

The reason your link doesn't work is because it says ".../...2007.../..." in the URL.

Actually ".../...2008.../..." doesn't work either.

another one: UC Berkeley Fall 2008 - Residence Hall Move In

lets use this as a place to find the roomates. I'll bet you're roomate will probably have a CC account.

I used a cached 2006 link (UC Berkeley Room Assignment Information) and it led me to the login window to find my roommate and room info:

It said:

"My Name

You have a valid Residence Halls Housing contract, but you have not yet been assigned to a specific room, so we do not yet have roommate information to give you. If you recently returned your housing contract, you will receive a room assignment shortly. Please check back in a day or two, or call the Residence Hall Assignments Office at (510) 642-4108.

Thank you,
Residential and Family Living Staff"

That must mean they still have to put the info in their database and website. I'm guessing that it will be up in a few days.

Hmmm. Now all of the links have been taken down. Looks like uploading to me.

I called housing and they said this week or next week.

I called the room assignment number and they only said soon.

Can anybody verify the Aug 3 rumor?

We can wait 5 days to verify the rumor... chill out! :D

It isn't really a rumor, just an observation last year, the names were released on August 3rd. Since move-in is a different date this year than last, one should take August 3rd with a grain of salt.

Websites have now changed to 2008 information and there is a link to check your roommate and room using your calnet id number. NOTE: right now, at least for me, it says "You have a valid Residence Halls HOusing contract, but you have not yet been assigned to a specific room, so we do not yet have roommate information to give you. . . Please check back in a day or two. . . " This, of course, is bull because I got to select my room. But at least the messages have now changed.

Click on the link below, then scroll down the left side and click some more!

UC Berkeley Fall 2008 - Residence Hall Move In

That is a link for Unit 1 - simply change the URL as needed to see the version for your own dorm unit.

Hopefully, the assignments and info come out tomorrow.

I clicked the link and the message is the same as the last time I posted the other link. They're still uploading the info.

We can't really do much about it can we -_-
Who here is active on the Class of 2012 wall?? :P

I'm reasonably active - but not as much as others (like Phillip!)

"Please check the left hand sidebar of this letter to find out your building placement and the contact information for your future roommate(s) in the beginning of August."

I think the info is coming out on August 1st or 4-7.
