Does anyone know how likely it is that you will actually get to room with whoever you asked to room with?

from what I have seen, if you request for someone to be your roommate, they will usually grant your request but... ask flopsy. I'm a student but I am always clueless and end up asking people younger than me for advice. (well I ask older people like people on CC)

If you don't get your requested roommate, you can always bombard them w/ appeals until its granted (you may not necessarily get the room/building you want though- so you have to give something to gain something else)

Everyone I know that requested it got it. It's usually not a problem.

Most requests, granted that both people put the same person, will be granted. Housing tries its very best do so. Based on my experience working for Housing, I'd say that around 80% of requests were granted without a hitch.

Of course, you may not get a double with that person, but may get a triple with you two and a stranger.
