I was accepted for early admissions, and plan to apply for housing on January 15th. My friend is applying for the regular admissions deadline, and is very likely to be accepted. If I wanted to request him as a roommate, would I lose the higher priority number, or could he just piggyback into whatever dorm I can get earlier?

Unless FSU changes the current policy, you would be using your friend’s worse priority number. Some admitted in the second round don’t even get a placed, so you would be advised by Housing to not request him as a roommate unless you are not picky about which hall you live in.

Yeah, that’s the way things work, whenever you request someone to be your roommate, you assume the worse of the two priorities.

I’d be willing to bet just about anything that FSU won’t change that policy this year… granted, they have changed most every other policy recently, it seems.
