When do we find out where we are living and who our roommate is?

I heard you can look it up online earlier than when it is sent out.

Anybody know anything at all?

When do we find out where we are living and who our roommate is?

I heard you can look it up online earlier than when it is sent out.

Anybody know anything at all?

From what I can remember, the information appeared online around late June/early July. It listed your roommate’s name and the dorm room number. Check your Pitt.edu account – I think it was listed under the communities/panther central/housing.

I recall last year my daughter got her housing assignment right before the fourth of July weekend - so if on the same schedule as last year you should receive something next week.

I called Panther Central yesterday and they said the housing information will be out on July 1.

great, thanks guys

Hey. about July 1…
I got my housing notice today and it was online…
Just giving you a heads up

I just got my info today as well as many of my roomies, so yours should be arriving soon if not already.

Does anyone know anything about Lothrop Hall? My son had requested a double in Litchfield Towers and just found out he has been assigned a single in Lothrop Hall. He listed four choices and Lothrop wasn’t one of them, so he’s pretty dissapointed. It looks like it’s pretty far from the main campus area and he also really didn’t want a single. Can anyone tell us anything about it (hopefully something that will cheer him up?)

anniemom, Lothrop is not really very far from the Towers. In fact, I don’t think it is really any farther than the honors housing in Forbes. it makes him any happier, lots of women nursing students request Lothrop. ;)

Anniemom - unfortunately most freshman pick Towers and not everyone ends up there. Last year my D wanted to be in double in Towers and ended up in a single in Holland (all girls dorm) and was NOT happy when she learned her the housing assignment. It all turned out fine though. There were some clear benefits to having a single and from what I understand at Lothrop there are a lot of singles and I am sure he will be on all freshman floor. The RA’s did a lot to get the singles to meet each other so at least they would have someone to eat dinner with and go to orientation activities with.In fact, two of those girls my daughter will be rooming with next year. I understand the rooms in Lothrop are more spacious than Towers and as lkf725 said it is not far from Towers and yes, he will have the benefit of a lot of nursing students in the dorm Good luck to him.

My son was assigned a single in Forbes Hall and is disappointed as he wanted a room mate. Any one know anything about singles in Forbes Hall (Room X19) regarding size, adjoining rooms, etc. Anyone with encouragement for having a single freshman year?

Hey, wmchas - I also am staying in Forbes Hall and have not received any roommate information. I was under the impression that the dorm didn’t have any single rooms; can someone clarify?

And if this is the case and we really are both singletons, I’d be glad to talk to him.

I am also in Forbes Hall and I am confused as well. I followed all the directions and my “bed space” is listed as PVL-0305-1. Is this supposed to be obvious or am I missing something?

I know PVL means Forbes (from the packet). Does 0305 mean floor 3 room 5? It lists my roommates as 0 and says “no records found” under roommate information, but I looked on the Forbes map at a room 5 and it doesn’t look like a single.

There ARE singles according to the (often unreliable) information at panther central.

Here is a floor plan:

[Forbes Hall Floor Plan](http://www.pc.pitt.edu/housing/floorplans/forbes.html)

X19 makes no sense but 19 does seem like it could be a single

Floor 3 room 5 make sense but does not look like a single.

All of this makes me think that we are looking at different things maybe?

Did I mention that i hate my.pitt.edu?

room 419 in Forbes Hall and it was listed as a single.

Usually the “-1” or “-2” means bed #1 or bed #2. Whether there actually is a bed #2 in a particular room, I do not know. Perhaps nobody has been assigned to the second bed, if it exists.

Thanks ifk725 that makes a little more sense.

Wmchas did you ever actually find a screen that said something like “room 419: single” or was it like PVL-0419-1 and you just made the logical assumption?

the assignment for the room lists PVL-0419-01 but there is clearly a zero where roommates are listed. Also the rate code is listed as PvllSgl which I assume is a single. Also on the floor layout the room is about half the size of the other rooms.

Anybody else get room 10 or 19 on any floor in Forbes I assume they would be singles as well.

Daughter is living in Forbes. Anyone know if the rooms are carpeted? How can we find out the size dimensions of the particular room?

Does anyone know if there are laundry facilities in Oakwood Apartments (on-campus university apartment)?
