man alabama triple is my first choice.

I got Alabama, fantabulous!

I'm green with envy.

have all the assignments been released?

I think people who requested roommates got assigned first, everyone elses assignments are supposed to come out today.

my friend did not request a roommate but she got assigned last friday. so did other guy I met on facebook. I think this is just a technical error.

I got assigned on friday without requesting a roommate.

Me too. ---

has everyone got their assignment yet?

Not I. That or I'm roomed with about 18 other people, mostly females... It says TBA but also gives a room and floor number but doesn't say in which dorm...

looks like I'm in hopkins, think it's worth it to appeal for a change to alabama?

no. not unless you have a really good reason. alabama is tuff enough to get in in the first place so they are not just going to move you there because you request it.

nrbelex, did you turn in you housing app late or something?

Nope, right on time. I was pretty flexible in my options though so maybe they're looking to pair me with someone more difficult.

On another note, I stayed in a Turman dorm two summers ago and here were some of my impressions:

[ul]
[li]The room, a double, was large and wasn't bad at all. It had a window and was close to a small lounge (at least one lounge was on every level but some were clearly (my terms) "main lounges" while others were "satellite lounges".[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]The room lacked WiFi which sorta bothered me but might be taken care of by now.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]Turman is near... NOTHING... everything is a shuttle ride away (shuttles were fairly frequent) or a five minute walk winding through the hospital. I'm sure you're with a ton of other people in the same boat though and it won't be as bad as it was during the summer when I was just with a tiny group of people. Actually Turman is near Lullwater park which is nice but doesn't make up for the annoyance of being distant from everything else.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]I didn't bother moving furniture but configurations seemed pretty flexible and there was plenty of room.[/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]There's a major set of train tracks just behind the dorm which generate a healthy amount of noise and the hospital's medevac helicopters often fly right over the dorm. Neither one is too bad unless you're particularly sensitive to noise. [/li][/ul]

[ul]
[li]Turman did have its own deli and basketball court but it didn't look like much at all compared with the DUC and the fitness center (or whatever it's called) and I think you need to use cash off your plan to eat at the Deli.[/li][/ul]

I requested Turman last or dis-requested it or did whatever they allowed in a desperate attempt to not to be there cause it's so damn far from anything else. If I'm put in Turman, I'm sure I'll live but I would really rather be elsewhere...
