Housing selection and preferred roommates?

Hi, I’ll be a freshman in the fall and I have found 3 other girls that want to live with me in either Lakeside, Beaty, or Springs. However, I just got an email that made it seem like actually getting paired with a preferred roommate is rare. Is it likely that I’ll be put with them or will we be separated?

You can room with anyone you want to. Whoever has the earliest housing appointment time will need the UF ID numbers for the rest of the people. The first person pulls in the rest when she choose her room. You will definitely room together if you do that.

People get preference if they applied before November 30, all of us were early December (mines was 12/3), so does that still apply

@butleraa133 i’m wondering the same thing. I applied 12/7. Does this mean that we won’t get to choose our rooms at all and that the staff is going to choose our rooms?

@dudewhatsup I guess that the cut off is the 30 of November, thankfully my roommate applied the seventh of November so she selects the room for us, but otherwise you have to put your preferences on the housing site and they try to pair you with who you want and where

Because you applied after the deadline, you list your top three choices and roommates and then housing will try its best to get you into one of your top three dorms.
