Housing + SIR?

To apply for UCLA housing, am I required to submit my statement of intent to register? In other words...can I apply for housing without being 100% sure I'll be attending UCLA next year?

I think you need to submit your SIR. Housing isn’t first come, first serve, however. It’s random so it doesn’t really matter when you apply for it.

rusoboy23, are you positive that you need to submit your SIR in order to apply for housing?

Well no reason to apply for housing until you’re sure. It’s a waste of $30 and order of submission doesn’t matter.

I applied for Housing but i haven’t submitted by SIR, i’ll do that after the decisions come on april 1st if i dont get in the top college i applied to. I’ll probably get rejected from there so i applied for housing first.

Order of submission doesn’t matter? Are UC’s different, then? Because USC takes order into consideration.

^yes, this varies by school.

Waste of $30 if you are not sure

What about UCSB?
