Housing situation change affect admission?

Our son has applied to Fordham. Originally we planned on having him reside with his grandparents in New Jersey and commute to the Rose Hills Campus.

Now, after having reconsidered this commute and how long it is, we are more interested in having him live on-campus.

My question is: If we decide to go through with this change, is it likely to affect his admission chances? I understand dorms are in short supply at Rose Hills, and they might look more favorably on someone who's willing to commute. Also, since he would need more money to live on campus, this means he would be requesting more financial aid as well.

Any comments?--we would need to let Fordham know of this change right away.

Hmmm... I know they are really encouraging commuters to apply. At the open house they stressed that there is a substantial discount on tuition (not sure of the amount but I'm sure it's on the website) for students willing to commute. Dorm space is at a premium, even though they've built several new dorms in the past few years.

I'd call the admissions office and see what they say.

Good luck!
