Hey so I heard somewhere that in order to keep the server from getting to clogged, it doesn’t matter when you apply for housing the 1st day. Its just all compiled at the very end of the day, so it doesn’t matter if you applied at 9 AM or 9PM etc on the first day. Is this true?

Also while I’m at it, do most applicants get their 1st choice? I’m hoping for sierra madre

Good points/questions. I would hope that most students would get their first choice if they apply the first day. Just by looking on CC, people seem to like a variety of dorms for different reasons. I certainly hope most students get what they want. I wish they would let you know before August 20th!!! Is that really the soonest you know about where you will live?

My son wants Cerro Vista and there is a lot more planning needed for the apartment style housing. He needs a lot more things such as kitchen stuff. We are just starting to buy some things that he will need no matter where he gets in. Just trying to spread the cost out a little bit. There will be so much to buy in the month of August!

xximanooobxx, if I’m not mistaken, if you think your financial aid will cover your room and board you can check a box for that and not have to pay the 800. Whatever financial aid doesn’t cover you will just have to pay later. Thats what I’m doing.

Students who have applied for Financial Aid can mark “Financial Aid” as the payment method on their Student Housing License Agreement. By choosing this payment option, housing and dining plan payments may be paid directly by Financial Aid. If the student’s award falls below the amount needed, the Student Accounts office will notify the student of any additional fees due. For more information visit the Financial Aid website. Financial Aid Students are encouraged to return their completed “Student Housing License Agreement” as soon as possible.

Is the housing situation that bad? It doesn’t make sense that this is happening. You think that Freshmen should get some priority. Where do all the freshmen who can’t get housing live? What happens to the ones on the waitlist?

Don’t worry gimmel, now that Poly Canyon Village is fully opened, there is enough capacity for all the students who want to live on campus. There were still some openings in the on-campus apartments even after all the students had moved in and started their academic year.
