Housing Status

Confirmed, I just got my assignment. Woot for first choice!

The irony of my last post was pretty amusing when I found out.

Room assignments are beginning to be posted on the web.

I’m on the My Housing page, but I still don’t see where it states my assignment. It even still allows me to update my housing and roommate preferences. Is this normal?

I’m not sure if this point as already been made, but I just had a chance to read what NXT said about how he was worried that his roommate would make advances on him during the middle of the night. I think that is extremely close minded of you. What makes you think you would even be appealing to him anyway? Chances are he will show no interest in you.

You turned this thread into a huge controversial one when I made it simply asking what day we would be finding out about housing assignments, and I really think it was unnecessary and immature.

On another note, housing assignments are now on your UT direct  I got San Jac! super excited about that! I hope everyone else got what they wanted to or something close! :)

M-5: Ummm I just went to my e-mail where I got an e-mail from the UT website saying that I got my housing assignment. They gave me a link, which took me to the my housing status on UT direct (you can get there without the e-mail) and it just stated in bold letters my roommate and my room… Maybe refresh the page or go check again? it should be there any time… maybe they sent them out in intervals like today and then some tomorrow?

Gah, I wish I can celebrate with all you but Dobie doesn’t do their assignments until next month :/

oh no :frowning: well I heard that dobie is good, so you should be well off either way :)

On my housing page, it lists two roomates and i’m staying in jester west. Does this mean I’m housing in a triple dorm room or are we all crowded in a regular dorm room? Are triple rooms bigger?

Maybe one of those people is on the other side of a connecting bathroom? What floor are you on? I don’t know of any triple rooms existing, and they wouldn’t crowd you in one room.

Also, are you sure it’s listing two? Your chosen roommate and your preferred roommate (if you have one) are not both your roommate if they are different people.

you could be in a supplemental room…

it says community bath…and also it says there both assigned roommates

yess i got my room! although i got my fourth choice, i’m happy. but, unfortunately, i don’t know much about my residence hall. i only chose it as my fourth choice cuz i hadn’t heard anything “bad” about it. does anyone know if moore-hill is a good place to live and should i try to change it somehow?

I’ve heard that moore-hill is a quiet, yet close-knit dorm. It’s good quality but there’s no restaurant, computer lab, or elevators. But right across the street from Jester if that’s the place you want to be.

It is probably a supplemental room - those have three people and they use the community bathroom. Did you apply really late?

UT direct never showed the emails/names of my suite-mates.

Sorry to interrupt this thread. This morning I was made aware that I violated the terms of this site, and I was put on probation. “someone” was offended by my posts defending minorities, and questioning narrow minded thinking. To all except that “someone”, I apologize for my posts. In the future, I will not on this site stand up to bigotry, hatred, and intolerance. Like my brethren in China, Darfur, Iran, Korea, and Sudan, I have been suppressed and silenced.

My apologies are sincere. My beliefs remain steadfast.

Have a great weekend. Again, sorry for the interruption. I find this site quite useful. I have learned a lot here to help my daughter.

I got san jac! woooooooo

darn. no elevators in moore-hill? and, my room number starts off with a 3, so i must be on the third floor. i guess i’m gonna have to walk up and down the stairs a lot.

It’s not as bad as you think. We’re not talking 12 foot ceiling per floor here. I would prefer being higher up than on the ground floor. There’s just something about the first floor that seems… bad? I mean, when you go to a hotel, you almost always want to be near the top floor, not on the ground floor.

Plus I always take the stairs if they are available, up to 15 or so stories. I’m really not a fan of elevators at all. I hate when hotels have emergency-only stairs.

how much does housing cost?

I emailed housing today and they told me that I am in a triple room.
