Housing Survey Binding?

I’m not sure If I want to go to BU or not…do I have to go to BU if I do the housing survey?

No, but you do have to pay the $650 deposit in order to fill it out, which is non-refundable.

ohhhh ok thanks!

you don't have to pay the deposit in order to fill out the survey, and you can also submit the housing survey if you still haven't paid the deposit.
i already submitted my survey but i still haven't paid. i'm not sure if i have a place in housing because i haven't paid the deposit yet, but it certainly doesn't affect whether or not you can submit it.

You can fill it out but it won't mean anything to the housing office without the money. In other words, no place will be held for you in the dorm of your choice if you haven't made the deposit.

elizabethh is right.

sorry for intruding but I have a question that I think is relevant. Is the housing decisions first come first serve? meaning, the sooner you pay the deposit and the sooner u fill out the housing survery form, your choice of campus is more likely?

another question: can we dorm with someone we know? or is it random? thanks.

Well, I know you can request a roommate on the survey

I've been told that the sooner you submit your preferences the more likely you are to get what you want. From what I understand most freshmen live in either Warren or West, so there's not really a lot of choices to make. But I wouldn't wait too long, if you really want a specific location, or a specific floor (depending on what you are majoring in).
