Currently, I'll be in a double in Sheldon Court, but I had wanted hopefully to get a single before housing selection. My time slot was late, so I had fairly limited options when I was able to pick. Thus, I'm wondering how exactly housing exchanges initiate and function. Also, I'm wondering if my financial aid would be adjusted to cover the increased price of a single.

A friend told me financial aid covers a traditional double? So if you go over the amount for the double you have to pay more at the end (august) and if you choose a cheaper housing plan (triple, etc) you pay less in august. I’m wondering about this as well, so it’d be great if someone could clarify.

I think you can get additional LOANS to cover the cost of a single, but your grant aid will not go up.

There has to be someone with knowledge on this…

Hey all:

So I just received my cornell housing assignment- it’s for Balch (all girls) and it’s a double room.
I’m looking to get into a coed residence, please let me know if you’re interested in switching (the housing office allows direct switches)

Thank you!

Gloria :)

I’m in a single in Dickson…lemme know if you want to switch.

Sheldon isn’t a freshman dorm.

donquijote2, ill switch with you. are you a male? if not, we cannot switch.

Looking for 2 female roommates interested in switching from Mews,Court-kay-Bauer, or Donlon to a double in low rise 6. I have a son who graduated Cornell and a daughter who will be a freshman. She and her roomate were assigned to Low rise 6. My son said that it is a great living situation for people who want suite style living and not the craziness and noise of Donlon ( it really is the party dorm). It is quieter, cozier, and the bathrooms are shared only by the girls in the suite. My daughter is one who loves noise, loud music, and stays up late. Donlon or non suite style residence halls seem to fit her better. Is anyone interested in making a switch.

I am also assigned to Low Rise 6 (I’m a female) and would like to make a switch. I didn’t request a suite but got placed in a single in Low Rise 6 on the first floor, I think. Is anyone interested in switching? I am interested in a single in Mews or Dickson.

I love how this topic has been invaded by first-years. :)
