With applications for residence now available, I'm interested to see where everyone is planning on living. So post where you applied!

Lander, Terry, Mercer, Haggett in that order.

McCarty, Terry, Haggett and Mercer, in that order. :D

Stevens K, Stevens L, McCarty, another Mc, in that order

I know they allow you to change your application so I'm planning on changing it after I visit.

But my situation is that north campus is better for me location wise as its close to the greek life, closer to the computer science building, and closer to all the athletic facilities. But I do want the freshman experience especially since I'm coming from out of state. Do you think I'd have any problems meeting people on the norht campus? Is it really that bad when it comes to mostly upper classmen in the northern dorms?

McCarty, Haggett, Mercer, Terry
I haven't even visited yet! I just want housing because I heard there's a shortage. I guess I'll see on Friday when I go up there what I really want. I'd like somewhere small but social, it didn't really seem like there were any that were both.

My daughter requested Lander Hall, I think because it's all-freshman. She was also thinking of McCarty because it seemed to be a better location. There is not much information about the pros and cons of each residence hall, so would appreciate anything you can pass along.

Haggett, McCarty, McMahon, Lander. I chose north campus because its closer to the buildings for my major :] and the rooms are bigger!
I did a quick search and here's an old thread (really old) on some of the dorms..
http://talk.collegeconfidential.com/university-washington/253-uw-dorms.html
maybe you'll find that helpful?

and just wondering, when do we hear back about our housing?

I went to apply for housing today, but found out that I need a cell phone to do so (or buy a landline). My parents were going to get me a cell phone when i went off to UW, but now i have to wait until i get one to apply for housing so we're gonna go out tomorrow and look for cell phones.

I'm looking at Lander and possibly one of the Stevens Halls, but I hear only about 100 freshman get in a year so you have to apply the night the applications are available. I like the cluster layouts, but i think i would have more opportunities to meet more people in the normal layout instead of being in an isolated group.

Lander, McCarty, Terry, Haggett in that order.

mcmahon, haggett, mccarty, stevens court

anybody know when we are going to hear back?

a uw freshman friend told me that she didn't get the top choices of dorm and roommate she requested despite she applied fairly soon after the applications were available.

hope we can get the dorms we want to live in.

My d's boyfriend is currently a freshman at UW. He applied for housing within the first 45 minutes last year and was assigned his fourth choice, McMahon. He likes the cluster idea but personality wise, it's been very hard. very different interests. And the clusters really are separate from each other (in his opinion) and not conducive to making friends with others on your floor or in your dorm. Each cluster is isolated. He was notified in August of his dorm placement and roommate.

My d is still debating between the greek system and the dorm. She applied for housing promptly at 4 on march 31st. 1) Lander 2) McCarty 3) Terry and 4) ??? I don't remember.

Within the first 45 minutes and given 4th choice?! I figured something like this could happen, so I was constantly refreshing the page until it had the app online. I submitted within 10 minutes of release... hopefully I have better luck :(

@cOnnection,

yeah that's like my friend's story.

i had my application submitted within 10minutes of release too, and my first choice was stevens, really wish i could be assigned to that one.

maybe it'll work out fine this year.
