Housing & Transportation

I was recently admitted to Miami's School of Engineering, and also received and invitation to the Honors Program. I am a female, and and almost sure I'm not planning on rushing.
What are my best options for housing? What dorms are the best ones? I'd like to know whether the dorms are suite-style or vice versa.
Also, I am a bit confused about living-learning communities. Are they in specific dorms, and is it worthwhile to join one of those (does it provide better/more opportunities)?
What dorms do Honors students have the chance to live in?

Additionally, I am from a suburb of Chicago. Looking at Miami's website, I see that there is a bus service that takes you back on University Breaks. Is there any other bus services/ common carpools that go back to Chicago land area on the occasional weekend?

My son is in the exact same circumstance. Miami has both engineering and honors LLCs. The honors dorms are in both Tappan and Emerson Halls this year. We’re not clear on where the engineering LLC would be next year or whether it would be better or worse than living in the honors dorms. I do know that non-honors students sometimes elect to live in the honors LLC for the academic atmosphere, although honors students get priority. Out of curiosity, Which engineering major are you planning?

I applied into Engineering (General), hoping to explore the different routes of engineering, as I was unsure of what exactly I was most interested in.
As far as dorming, I am likewise unsure of what option would be best for me!
