I missed the deadline for the housing deposit and so I had to go on the wait list. Currently, my spot is around 170 and I was wondering what my chances of actually getting housing as a freshman at SBU are. Is there any chance that I could get housing for the fall semester? And if not is there a better or chance I could get housing in January? Thanks!

Update: Campus housing is currently unavailable for the Fall 2013 semester. Students who wish to be considered for campus housing should space become available must follow these steps:

Pay your $200 Housing Deposit. In SOLAR, go to “Campus Financial Services” and then “Account Summary/What Do I Owe” to submit a general payment of $200.

Contact the Bursar’s Office: E-mail Mara Green, University Bursar, at Mara.Green@stonybrook.edu and request that the general payment just submitted be applied as your campus housing deposit.
You will be contacted by the Department of Campus Residences if space becomes available.

hi, thanks for your quick response! since i am already on the waitlist does making the $200 deposit before i am notified of an open spot via email increase my chances or is waiting until i am notified of an open space and then paying the $200 deposit just the same as submitting it now?
