i got waitlisted on the housing. they said there are 274 people ahead of me in the suites. what are my chances of getting in?
i got admitted first week of april and i immediately applied for housing after but still ended up on the waitlist.

3 months ago I was #250 for the suite waitlist and they told me I probably wouldn’t get in. I applied for the village instead but I don’t know if they have a waitlist now either.

you were told 3 months ago?

yes. The suites are also twice as expensive as the village apartments, so I realized it wasn’t worth it anyway.

Its not that much more, and you get your own room, share a bathroom with 1 other person instead of a floor, a kitchen in your place. how did you find out out 3 months ago?

You get your own room, kitchen, and bathroom in the village apartments also, and the suites are indeed about twice as much, a little bit less since you don’t buy a meal plan in the village. I found out about the wait list by calling the housing office.

oh, I thought you were talking about the difference from the halls to the suites. I applyed for the village after getting the email but idk how far back I am on their waitlist.

if u apply for the village, are they gonna remove u from the suite waitlist? also do u have to pay again?

no you will just be on 2 waitlist. the 2,are unrelated.

I called the housing office maybe an hour ago. Since I’m 249th on the waitlist for a dorm, he said I should probably just get an off-campus apartment. So, I guess I’m doing that and buying a new bike as well. Lol.

its kinda unfair that the $50 is nonrefundable since we are not guarantee a spot, but i guess its worth it.

caldud, the village is technically part of cpp but just outside the campus. i think there is a bus stop at the village for the bronco bus so u dont have to get a bike.

Yes there is a bus stop at the village, I heard they come every 15 minutes.

how am i going to able to send my transcript within 48 hours? it takes more than a week for my old school to process it.

mothermaryCUP, why didn’t you send your transcripts earlier? You could see if they will do it fast for you if you brought a prepaid express envelope for overnight shipping? I did that for my first transcript. I’d ask before you get one though.

the transcripts to the village? you can copy the unofficial transcripts and email them.

In all honesty, It’ll be nearly impossible for you to get housing. i got wait listed number 150 and the lady I talked to said I’ll be lucky if I get in by winter. Just start looking for off campus housing or commuting.

anyone of u guys able to search for rooms yet? my application is still stuck in step 7 Reservation Timeslot. it says im suppose to be able to search for a room this morning but it still wont let me.

@mothermaryCUP - it won’t let you because there are no rooms available; you are on a waitlist. I’ve been told the waitlist at the Village for females is very short and for males it is a little bit longer. If you want to ask what number you are, don’t email. I find that I get better results when I call. I am assuming there are students living at the Village who are attending summer school. If they are only licensed for summer and are not returning for fall, then more spaces will open up once the summer term is over.

waitlist 114. payed $300 for res. halls and live over an hour away from pomona,
i currently take summer school there and need to take 2 trains/buses just to get there, hope i get in…

mothermaryCUP: how are you #275 i called in today and some girl told me there are around 194-200 ppl on the waitlist. she told me she was 101 last year and got in, but was quick to say that not as many ppl dis year are canceling housing applications.
