My friend got a letter in the mail stating that she is on the waitlist for housing. She did turn in her application late, around july 20th. Anyone know the chances for her to get a place to live in the fall?? She called the housing office to ask, but they gave her ambiguous answers.

theres grand merk apartment close about 1 mile or so,
might get a shot on that real good place to live and study plus not too expensive

Grand Mark is one of the most expensive places to live. I would not recommend it. Though most things come furnished. I recommend everyone to dorm their first year. Waitlist for housing huh? That didnt happen this past year... Well then - tell her to call back at the begining of September and see if there are open spots.

For cheaper living, Bannockburn or maybe Iowa Gardens. ::shrugs:: I too will be in the field looking for apartments after I come back studying abroad.

what happend to guaranteed housing?

She turned in her housing late, June 20th (not july whoops). So it doesn't look good for residence halls...? Thanks alot though I'll pass the info along.

grand marc is close by (walking distance) and if she's a business major she'll have a lot of her classes at the UV theatres anyways. Its pretty expensive but not that bad. Riverside housing is cheap, so take it for granted. You can also look into palm sterling which is really nice and not that bad of a price about 450/month for a shared room but all utilities/cable is paid for. Bannockburn is really old and school owned which measn crappy internet. dunno much about Iowa gardens. Stay away from parkhill apartments.
