housing???? when will they hear???

I am hoping my daughter who will be in ID DAAP will know her room mates and housing assignment before her orientation june 16th.

daapmom,

I emailed on the 15th, and they said “late next week”, which was last week, so, I’m thinking any day now. But, yeah, I’m waiting for that too. Also, don’t forget to forward any AP scores that your daughter may have taken last year, because the AP scores for this year’s set of AP tests won’t be there in time to be considered by the advisor when scheduling courses for the fall at orientation. They’ll be glad to adjust the schedule in consultation with the incoming student, but when that adjustment might occur is unknown (by me at least) at this point. Also, since no spots are saved for incoming freshman, any genEd course spots available are going to be at odd times since the “best” times will have already been taken, I’d say. But, hey, I’m sure it’ll all work out. Still, diligence is better than luck…

oh yes…AP …already had all AP sent from last year and received a credit evaluation from UC in which they granted her 9 credit hours already. Took 3 AP exams a few weeks ago in which they will receive the results in late july.

OK, well I pestered housing today about when the first housing assignment emails would be going out. They are now saying sometime next week…so, that would be 6/2-6/6. Tick-tock.

received an email on my daughter’s UC email account today from housing

Due to high demand for on-campus housing, on Friday, May 2, Housing & Food Services (HFS) closed the online housing application for all students. All applications received prior to this date are guaranteed an assignment. This email is to confirm that you have an active housing application on file, and that you will be receiving a housing assignment for the 2014-15 academic year.

HFS anticipates the first round of assignments will be emailed to students UConnect (university-issued email) accounts no later than Friday, June 6.

Not all students will receive an assignment in the first round. HFS is currently working through several university processes including academic progress and financial reviews of upper-class students, disability accommodation reviews, and confirmation of enrollment intent by new students. Once these processes reach completion in the coming weeks, HFS will be able to complete the assignment process. New assignments will be made on a weekly basis with assignment emails issued on a bi-weekly basis until hall opening.

If your plans have changed and you no longer wish to live on campus for the 2014-15 academic year, please complete an Online Cancellation Form, or send us an email.

HFS staff will be available to discuss your assignment status during Taking Care of Business on Day 1 of your Bearcat Bound Orientation.

We look forward to seeing you this fall!

Well I just called and pestered housing, and they’re having IT issues with their application, and it doesn’t look like they’ll be able to generate assignments today. They’re now shooting for Monday the 9th. So…hang in there.

they must be because my daughter got 3 repeat email messages today with the same posting i posted she received the other day

this was a copy of the triple email she received yesterday…now it is stating in the next few weeks without giving a date and doesn’t look like they will be telling them during orientation like the original email stated.

Unfortunately HFS has not emailed out housing assignments. We continue to work closely with our housing software vendor in order to process assignments and email these to students within the coming weeks.

OK, my daughter got assigned to a Daniels Quad today, so housing must have corrected the problems, and has begun sending out assignment emails. Another bit of news is that they confirmed that Move-in day for Daniels is Thursday, August 21st.
