Housing?

Hi.

I need some advice. I was originally planning on commuting to the UW which is an hour away (bus) but I received negative feedback from my peers.

So... about UW housing. I was wondering which one is right for me:

I'm not a party person

I'm interested in international studies

I prefer the quiet rather than the noisy

Are there any dorms where the bathrooms are good/decent? I'm not really comfortable with sharing but I can't avoid that, now can I?

Any information/advice would be great.

Thanks! :)

Steven’s Court is nice and pretty quiet. It’s more of like an apartment and not a dorm hall (for all the right reasons)

sounds like Greek Life is for you my friend, PIKE! PIKE! PIKE!

I agree with mooper, it sounds like you should rush in the summer. Go tekes!

I suggest that you get an apartment near campus, they’re generally much better for the same price compared to dorms

McCarty is one of the better dorms, in my opinion (I’m currently living in it). It’s also in North Campus, which means proximity to both the Ave and UVillage, as well as to the University itself. Terry/Lander do have great bus access, though.

But yeah, like others have said, an apartment is a great option. Just be careful not to get a really crappy one. If you’re rolling in dough, Nordheim and Radford Court are amazing apartments that you should consider. Otherwise, there are a ton of other choices that I don’t know much about (although I’ll have to learn soon so I can get one for next year), so good luck with that.

Steven’s Court sounds about right for you. Quiet, bathroom sharing is minimal, no partying (good luck EVER partying with UW RAs… they’re a huge buzz kill), and plenty of time to study.
