housing

i am curious about housing, or more specifically roommates. is anyone else intrigued by the browse roommate thing or is the general consensus to just let cornell assign a roommate?

I was wondering the same thing. It’d be nice to have a roommate so that I know that my roommate and I have similar interests, etc. I’m wondering if the majority simply let Cornell assign them.

my thinking is the same way. i want to find a good roommate, but i don’t want to be the one person who is using that feature

I think people use that, in addition to ■■■■■■■■, faceebook, et. I met two of the girls I’m gonna share a room with on fb.

i figure you can talk to ppl thro fb and other sites but unless you know them in real life its not gonna make much of a difference whether Cornell chooses right? When browsing i found girls who were 90% compatible but isnt Cornell going to automatically pick the one that has the highest compatibility percentage?

That’s what I was thinking the ranking system was there for, so that Cornell would automatically match you with somebody who’s similar. But then again, why do they give us the option to browse those with similar profiles?

i found some facebook groups designed for this purpose. does anyone know how the message feature of the housing website works?

i think i’m just going to trust in cornell…lol. hopefully it all works out

i think that feature exists to allow us to contact people with the highest compatibility and get to know them personally in case we want to make a preference ourselves.
