Hey, so does anyone have any advice for me applying for USC housing? I've read through some other threads, but they didn't really address my concerns.
Personal preferences:
-single suite, but also open to dorms
-more quiet area but also with a decent social environment
-access to good swimming pool/gym
-not old and dirty (though I'm sure this is the same for most people lol)

Thanks in advance for any insights :)

Single suite - you most likely won’t end up in a single, but if you really wanna try, the only housing that has single bedrooms in a suite is IRC.

More quiet area, but with social environment - notNewNorth notNewNorth notNewNorth, it is the opposite of quiet. People seem to say Birnkrant is a good balance, but I think it’s an honors dorm next year. I’m personally partial to Fluor.

Good access to pool and gym - Fluor can’t be beaten in this regard, it’s right next to the Lyon Center.

Not old and dirty - notTrojan, notTrojan, notTrojan.

Personally, I think Fluor’s best because:
- AC - I laughed at my North-side friends on that day we had record high temps last year
- Location right next to Lyon Center and Cafe 84.
- NOT right next to McCarthy - i.e. you wouldn’t need to deal frickin Mos Def or someone wailin away out side while you’re trying to finish up two papers. A lot of events happen in McCarthy, and while it might be convenient to step right outside your door and have it out there, I feel like the disadvantages outweigh the benefits, especially since everything’s in walking distance anyway.
- Best person:toilet/shower ratio - 4:1, compared to dorms where it can be closer to 8:1.
- Couch in common room/suite is handy for lowering guilt levels when sexiling/
