do those who meet the may 15 priority deadline usually get their first choice? and is there any chance of getting the hall you want if you miss that deadline?

Depends on what hall you’re looking at

Missing the deadline for applying for housing is not good because you are likely to end up in temporary housing. Applying by the deadline does not assure first choice under the current lottery system where you will be in a pool with others who choose that particular hall and then randomly picked if the number choosing it is greater than space available. As mentioned above some halls have higher demand than others as a first choice.

Is nugent hall available for freshmen?

You’re pretty much not gonna get nugent applying for a freshman. Sophomores have priority over freshman

no freshman will live in nugent, it’s all sophomores and that. it filled up quickly. it doesn’t matter when you submit your housing as long as you submit it by the deadline. it’s completely random lottery so whether you submit it may 14th at 1155 or in January does not matter. but if you want to really get in 6 pack I suggest and this is what I did to apply directly to Weston LLC. it’s in the 6 pack and is the dorm that is 100 feet from the Ike it’s so convenient and it is sooooooo social. you can choose to partake and take advantage of the LLC or you can not which is what I have done. I just wanted to get into the 6 pack and all you have to do is write a short little essay on why you want to be apart of the LLC.

^ I would second Weston too, one of my best friends is in Weston and he’s really enjoyed it

I wanted a relatively new dorm.thats all. It rly had nothing to do with nugent specifically . Are there any new dorms other than nugent? Or relatively new?

Nugent was the first new dorm built on campus in over 40 years. There are no other new ones at this time.

so aside from the LLC is Weston similar to the rest of the six pack? and I’m going for engineering and it looks like Weston is more geared towards undecided majors would that hurt me? and is the LLC a time commitment that could get in the way for me?

when I say will it hurt me I mean will having decided on a specific. major hurt my chances at getting into the LLC? or does everyone that applies pretty much get in

no im living in weston now and a lot of people already have a major, they too for the same reason i did just wanted 6 pack and applied directly to live in weston. the LLC title weston has means nothing. you can take advantage of the opportunities and particptate in different stuff they have like kickball one day or stuff like that but you certaintly dont have to do and i know a lot of people dont because they dont have the time. you arent required to do anything. when i wrote my essay i had a specific major I just BS’d it and wrote how i wated to meet people that are possibly in the same major and weston offers advising and all that. i just looked online and what weston has to offer then included it in my essay on why i wanted to be in a “LLC”.

nice, do a lot of people get rejected from the LLC? or if you apply is it pretty much a sure thing

as the years go on more and more people are figuring out that its an easier way to get into the 6 pack. im not sure how many people didnt get into weston that directly applied. you can also directly apply to the LEADS program for Hopkins but the whole dorm is not LEADS its just a floor so im sure all the people that apply to hopkins directly dont get in where as all floors of weston is LLC.
