Hello! I have been accepted to UNC Charlotte but don't want to make a final decision on a college until I get the financial aid stuff back later. The odds of me going to Charlotte are pretty high though. Since the housing application is available now, should I just go ahead and apply and pay the $200 deposit?

Congratulations on your acceptance. Since your odds of attending are high I would go ahead and place your deposit to ensure priority on housing selection. When did you hear of your acceptance and was it via the portal, email, or regular mail? I applied the first week of September and am still waiting for the decision.

I heard of acceptance through regular mail, they sent a huge envelope with “Congratulations” and some sort of message on one side. But the decision is updated on the portal too. I got the packet around December 12 I think? But that’s weird because I thought they were supposed to have a decision for you by December 15th if you applied early like you did.

Thanks for your information. Yeah, when I applied they had a mid-December decision date but now the website says by Jan 31. I am out of state applying to engineering. I am getting emails from the engineering department inviting me to open houses to “aid in my decision of selecting where to attend college” so I hope that is a good sign.

@sevgrad I applied for engineering as well and have not heard back yet. I was wondering your test scores and GPA were so maybe I could see where I am at. I have a 4.5 weighted and 3.72 unweighted. 1630 sat total. CR= 520, M= 590, W= 520. I just retook the SAT but haven’t gotten my scores back yet but I feel I did much better. Good luck!
