Housing

hey i was jus deciding the housing and UNIT ONE/ALLEN HALL looks pretty good as they have some calculus, economics and international relationships courses which really suits me..was jus wondering how are he chances of getting allen hall.. and how good is allen hall a dormitory to live in(like hows the livin conditions)...ALSO HOWS THE LOCATION OF IT FROM THE ENGINEERING QUAD..are busses easily available from there??...oh yeah and hows the air conditioning there???? i really need that

pls help me out..need to make my decision as soon as possible

Difficulty of getting into Unit One and thus Allen Hall simply depends on how many apply for it and they often have more applicants than spaces available and thus the earlier your application for housing the better. Nice Hall, impressive architecture, but, as other dorms, rooms are fairly small. About a 15 minute walk to the engineering quad. Convenient and frequent bus transportation.

There is no air-conditioning in the rooms. Not sure of weather you are used to. Classes start in August when it can be hot and through Septemeber it tends to fall steadily, particularly getting cooler nights, and by October air-conditioning is not an issue although you can get some high 70's days early in October but nights are cool even then. Second semester is in the dead of winter and by early May when school ends high temperatures are still averaging only in the 60's.

also how r the toilets and bathrooms?? whats the thing about the bathrooms i mean how many ppl share it or do we have a private bathroom...and since i am indian i would like to know what kind of meal options should i take ...i do eat chicken and eggs in non-veg nothin else though...hows the food scene in unit one.....also whats the advantage of PRIVATE HOUSING VS. THE UNIVERSITY RESIDENCE HALLS
