I am going to be a freshman this year and I have just heard that UCONN will most likely be releasing housing information next week. As this seems rather late to me, I was wondering if anyone knew when housing info was sent out in years past. Thank you.

They’re going to be releasing housing info later this week (which is still quite late). If you check your university email there should be an email with subject, “Notification of new charges” and it should have the name of where you’re living.

Housing is going to be late because of the increased amount of summer students and the increased number of students that wanted to stay on campus this year. We moved our DS which opened a bed for a freshman.

Good luck to all my DS will be there to help the freshman to move in. Look out for them frat boys!!

Yeah UConn releases room assignments really late even in normal years. Last year I was one of the last people at my HS to talk to my roommate.

This year they’ve overenrolled again, so they’re still trying to make space for freshman. They’re sending students who live on campus lots of emails to try and get them to move to “premium” off campus options. The problem with the Storrs campus is that living off campus is extremely inconvenient unless you have a car. There aren’t many stores near campus, and the closest apartments are ~1 mile away. On top of that parking is expensive and bothersome. So if you don’t like having a car on campus, on campus is pretty much the only option.

Thanks for all the info guys, hopefully I’ll hear from housing soon.
