Housing

I'd like to get some opinions from people who have experienced/heard things about the different neighborhoods and LLCs. I am a DA to Kelley, and have been accepted for Honors. I love hanging out with my friends and am social, but partying isn't my social scene of choice. Any advice on where I should live? Right now my top choice is Teter (Central Honors). I'm mostly worried that I won't get in there! Thanks in advance for your help!

Go for central, it’s the best mix of partying and studying

To get opinions from actual students, check out the student blogs about IU Residence Halls at We Are IU:

You can also search for Teter and McNutt on the weareiu.com site.
My opinion is as a mom of a Kelley LLC student who was torn between Central Honors and Kelley LLC. She feels she made the right choice going with KLLC because of the great opportunities for networking with recruiters and living with students who are taking many of the same classes. While McNutt is known as a party dorm and you may have to deal with noise, you definitely don’t have to be a party animal to fit in. Central Honors is great too, so you won’t go wrong no matter what you chose!

My son’s first choice is KLLC, followed closely by central honors.

I am a big fan of the KLLC. There’s a ton that has been written about it from the first year perspective, but i’ve witnessed a different advantage this semester as a junior. 4 out of my 5 upper level finance & accounting classes this semester require us to work in the same group for the entire semester. I chose to be in groups with people from the KLLC in 3 of them. These are mostly people that I have not been friends with over the past 3 years, but we know from experience that we are strong students. You will learn in Kelley that not all group members are created equally, and the expansive network of Kelley students the KLLC provides beyond just your group of friends will help you out later in your Kelley career.
