What are the chances of getting on campus housing for soph/junior/senior year? I can't afford to live off campus.

For one thing, off campus housing is almost always cheaper than living on campus, so if you can afford to live on campus, you can definitely afford to live off campus. Nonetheless, if you do prefer to live on campus after your freshman year, you should have no trouble. NU doesn’t guarantee on campus housing all four years, but they are always able to accommodate all upperclassmen that wish to live on campus.

superdub,
Freshmen and sophs are guaranteed on campus housing, and if you want to live on campus junior and senior year, that usually would not be a problem. However, I agree with the poster above that from everything I have heard, it can be less expensive to share an off-campus apartment. Some students move off campus sophomore year, and more junior year. Some students live in sorority or fraternity housing on campus.

I will most likely be getting financial aid, that’s why living off campus if a problem

Thank you guys

superdub, take a deep breath!! Don’t be worrying about paying for housing two years from now! Take a minute to enjoy this great opportunity in front of you. You are a smart kid. You’ll figure it out. We all did! In 1978, I applied to Northwestern and my grandfather gave me a really hard time about how was I going to pay for it. (He wanted me to go to a local school) Thanks to NU, and a very generous financial aid package, I made it work. And you will too. You are not alone.

@AnonMom13 haha i didn’t get into NU yet, still a junior. I ask because i am looking into schools right now
