If I submitted my housing application on March 7, will I have a good chance of getting an okay dorm at UT?
Your housing priority date is based on when you submitted your $50 application fee. The earliest applicants paid in August so a March application is perhaps at the back of the queue. However, I’ve heard it is possible to improve your position if you can find someone with an earlier priority date to put you down as their roommate.
Hmm, that’s a good idea. However, I’m not really good friends with anyone else going to UT Austin from my school, and I would prefer not to room with them. I’m probably gonna try my chances with potluck. I mean, I’m very open minded about my preferences. The only 2 things I would prefer not to have are girls only dorms and a really small dorm. San Jacinto would be perfect, but I heard that one fills up fast. I wouldn’t mind Jester either, but I really don’t know how fast it fills up. Thanks for your advice though! I’ll certainly consider rooming with someone if I can find someone I know well that I can tolerate for a year.
@marie122, just wondering if you have received your housing contract or not?
@helicopter8 No, because I haven’t enrolled yet since I’m still waiting on a college decision.
