Housing

end of next month

ughh i want it already...
my roomate better be ready for lots of mess :)

hahaha, my roommate better be ready for lots of partying...

 Don't know if I could have a roomate who was a crazy partier, hmmm, though my roomate better be up for techno and classical music.

you guys this is killing me...i want to know! i'm a little mad that they didn't let us pick roommates because i have a lot of friends going but whatever...they better make up for it by giving me some AMAZING roomies!! (the thing i'm most worried about though is getting a bunk bed...i should have written on my housing form that i'm afraid of bunk beds haha).

I should've said I was amazingly claustrophobic...and I need a 6 person suite all to myself...

^haha i like that better

Does anyone know if Claverly is new in terms of freshman housing?

Also, when you apply for a freshman seminar, it might show your dorm too. I guess I haven't been assigned one yet because mine wasn't listed but yours might be. Just FYI.

Hmmm, I've been told of some tips on how to find out your room, b/c what you can do is at your my.harvard you click the tab for campus resources, then under student term bill click "View latest changes and payments under your account." Then you'll get your account summary and on the left hand margin click the link for addresses, which should give you your phone number which you can then look up through google [try it w/o the area code first] to get a name and then you look through facebook for that person's room, and if all this worked for me then I'm in Grays E21. Hmmm, and this agrees with the fact that on my FAS Registrar Student Record it says I'm in the Crimson Yard, so...

according to that method, I'm in Canaday...

hey guys-
when you do find out your dorms, put it on the yahoo group database...hopefully that way we can find out roomies in the event that harvard deigns not to send out the letter for another 5 months :)
oh, and im in weld

tonyt- what is the FAS registrar student record?

and according to that trick...i have no phone number ;_;. i had one 2 days ago when i tried, it yielded no results...and now the phone number has disappeared! yuck.

Yea, i heard that they dropped the phone numbers b/c (a) it was a slip up by the big H and (b) a parent called in complaining about her son/daughter being put in Canaday, so they caught on, but oh well. As to the FAS registrar student record, go to the Campus Resources tab, scroll down a little and under FAS advising will be a link to the FAS registrar student record, and at the top right [under the date] it should say whether you're in the Crimson, Ivy or Elm yard which obviously doesn't pinpoint your dorm, but it definitely cuts down on the possibilites. Just to help, here's a list of the breakdowns I got from someone:

Crimson:
Grays
Greenough
Hurlbut
Pennypacker
Wigglesworth

Ivy:
Claverly [or Apley if it's open next year]
Hollis
Holworthy
Lionel
Mass Hall
Mower
Stoughton
Straus
Thayer

Elm:
Canaday
Matthews
Weld

eeeh...im in elm yard...

i guess the yards aren't determined by geography because matthews and weld are separated from grays and straus, even though all four are in very close proximity from each other (probably the closest proximity dorms could be in)

Which are the best dorms?

Wigglesworth....for me...
