HOUSING?

When will we be able to choose our housing options? is it open for any of you guys?

You submit your housing application https://housing.berkeley.edu/apply by May 2nd. Login. You get to put your 4 choices. You get told sometime around June or July what you got. Don’t forget you have a berkeley.edu email address which they send that to.

when i log into the housing portal, for some reason it only shows an option to do summer housing @Walter924

A. Are you admitted?

C. Do you see a page that says

Summer LLM students note: Do not use the Single Student Apartments application if you are a Summer LLM, as we do not have apartments available at this time. Please use the Summer Housing application if you are interested in living in the residence halls. Do not use the Single Student Apartment application. Keep in mind, you may be placed in a double occupancy space with undergraduate students. See ‘summer.berkeley.edu’ for more information. You may also contact Cal Rentals for off-campus housing information.

@Walter924

@ironweasal I am out of ideas except to say to call them at 510-642-4108 or e-mail them at reshall@berkeley.edu (they take at least a week to get back to you by e-mail, so try calling).
Good luck. Anyone else have any ideas?

@walter924 got it fixed.

How is everyone logging into the housing portal? How do I create a CalNet ID and passcode??

@ironweasal How did you fix it? I’m having the same problem and I have already called (yesterday), but they told me to email instead

What are some housing recommendations for a social female transfer student. I would like to live in a lively apartment complex and I’ve heard that Martinez is a solid choice. Im also aware that at this point I might be stuck with only on-campus apartments so which is best (please rank + include explanation): Martinez, Channing, Clark Kerr, Ida, Manville, or Wada?

D was in a 4-room apartment in Martinez this year (3 sophomores, 1 junior). The complex is less than 10 years old, so in really nice shape. Couple short blocks from the campus. Seemed really clean - even the dorms that are part of the complex. D to live off campus next year - really going to miss Martinez. Clark Kerr is going to be furthest away from campus. Ida is for graduate students. Manville is law and graduate students. Wada you will definitely be sharing a bedroom with at least one other person. Channing-Bowditch mostly double occupancy (would be #2 on my kid’s list). If you want your own room, Martinez is your best bet, numbers wise. Make sure to put “anything available” as your last choice if you want to be offered SOMETHING on campus.
