Housing

Hey guys,
I know that application for housing at UT start in september, so can anyone recommend which dorm hall would be the best? Is paying the $1500 extra for san jacinto worth it? Any ideas from past experience or from what you've heard about where the best dorms are?

Thanks

Jester is pretty good if you can get Jester West -- private bathrooms, newer. (so try to submit your application early)

San Jac is good because it's private bathrooms and it's a nice place, but at the same time I think the local sucks.

They have other dorms, like the honors dorms (blanton, etc) then there's kinsolving and littlefield (I think they're all-girls) simkins (all boys) -- these all have community bathrooms. So really its up to you and your personal preferences. Having a private bathroom was a big thing for me so it narrowed my choices. Then came ease of location. You're going to say that you want to be close to your classes but at the same time you should keep in mind other factors, proximity to libraries, food places (7/11 -- good for all nighters, Starbucks, Fast Food, etc)

Live in an off-campus dorm like Dobie, Towers, or Castilian.
