Anyone have any opinions on the best and worst dorms?

You have to make a few choices to start. East campus or west, apartment or traditional.

I think first years have to go to traditional dorms so thats probably answered.

East campus is right next to midtown Atlanta, GSU dorms, the football stadium and most of the classrooms and the library. Its usually a bit less quiet than west due to the city and during football season its even more. The older more historic dorms are here in additional to Brittan dining hall which looks like a damned church. I like it a lot, it has a good city college feel and there is plenty of life. As far as the individual dorms are there really isn't too much difference. Glenn, Perry, Matheson, and Towers are probably nicer than others. I'd pick based on location. I lived in Field last year and the damned desks were built into the wall and they were ugly and metal. It was hideous and a pain in the ass. I've heard they changed this but I haven't seen for myself.

West campus is a whole different story. Its far as hell from town and most first/second year classes. It is close to the rec center and fields. Mostly upper classmen live here in the apartments. The freshman dorms aren't much different than the ones on east.
