Housing

i started to fill out the form and i was wondering what i should do to ensure the best chance that i'm on the hill area, preferably markley. what should i answer with type of room, coed dorms or halls, etc.

idk i might be thinking way too into this

also, do i have a good chance of not getting north if i get it in before the may 10th deadline?

Just pick Hill/Central, and possibly Coed building, but not floors or something like that.

And it's really random, because freshmen housing is a lottery. You're gonna have to hope you don't get picked last.

If it's any consolidation, if I get put into Markley, I'll trade with you.

another ques

markley vs. lloyd....

I personally like Lloyd better, but it's cause I have a few friends there. Markley has a lot of people, and overall is pretty good as well.

As an incoming freshmen, I'd probably choose Markley over Lloyd because there are just more people you can meet at Markley. There's always something to do, always something going on there. And while it's the same at Lloyd to an extent... Markley seems to give the better overall freshmen experience IMO.

if you fill out the housing by the may 10th deadline and choose the hill as your first housing choice, what are the odds that you get it and don't end up on north

Is there a way where I can take a tour of just the dorms? I really don't want to go to Campus day because I already know what UMich is about, and would rather not have to waste time.

Can I just call in and say I want to see the types of dorms?

Also, co-ed floors--good or bad idea?

Have you seen this site?

http://housing.umich.edu/residencehalls/index.php

It has pictures and such....

You may have saved me a trip to Ann Arbor.

Props.

dear god someone please answer this

Cambridge House/West Quad - Upperclass

what the heck does West Quad -Upperclass mean?

basically in case you couldn't tell i just want to do everything i can to not end up on north...

Freshmen cannot live in Cambridge. If you don't want to live on North Campus, ask for Oxford or Fletcher.
