frasifrasi - No. We (my roommate and I) didn't contact each other in anyway prior to move-in. We only said "hi" one time on facebackk, and that was it.

Isn't today late night penn state? How come I don't see anything at the HUB tonight?

Looks like it is just movies for the summer:
http://www.latenight.psu.edu/

I'm in supplemental in Beaver (Pollock). 6 girls in one room.. =/

Yo I got West wit my chosen roomate :)

Bloody hell! my devastating bill has been released :O and housing charges went up 100 dollars?!?! Also, is it just me or has the total cost gone up about ~ $500 dollars?

And to think I was having a decent day...

Just out of wrath, I am going to make sure I use every resource available, take all the good classes I can, and grasp every opportunity at our disposal this semester to make it my [parent's] money's worth; I will show them!

Yes, tuition has gone up at least $1000 each year for the 4 years that my s was there, and of course it goes up even more when you are a jr and senior in certain majors (jumped $3000 between sophomore and junior year).

How long does it take for loans to be processed? My tuition bill is due August 10, and I don't have any money to pay. Should I take out a loan now (today)?

Can anyone explain the rise in room rates or the other $1000 rise yearly?

To me, it has reached a point where it is getting ridiculous. As an int'l student, I knew I was going to face financial strain going oos, but +$1000 in one year--and for a state school that is not even that prestigious? This is as much as a top private education or better ranked public schools like UVA, UC's. etc! Don't forget meal plan costs, which you eventually end up running out of and paying another $300 or so anyway.

Now even if I wanted to stay at psu for 08-09, I wouldn't.

Tuition and room rates rise at all schools - it is not just PSU... my d is at a private school in PA and her tuition rose 2500 in the last two years - room rates are higher too...
It is still a great deal for the education you are getting - particularly in engineering...and it is not as much as a top private as they are now over 40,000 per year...

Tuition rate increase approved. Here are the details.
