So what is the best place to house for a freshman engineering major? I was thinking Bursley on North, or one of the Quads on central. Also, how is housing on the hill compared to central?

ummm im not too sure. but i know that when you are an enigneering student and REALLY get into engineering courses i believe that you spend most of your time on North campus. i STRONGLY suggest that you visit campus for a couple of days because the campus is realyl spread out. you can not walk from north campus to central campus, it is really far.

Cross your fingers and hope you land on Central.

Freshman engineers only need to take two required engineering courses during their Fall and Winter semesters, meaning that you only need to take two classes at North Campus (and the rest, such as Chemistry, Calculus, and Physics, are at Central). There are more perks by living in Central than at North in this case, being that all the hang-out spots are at Central. Bus system is decent, but it gets really bogged down during weekends, when all the North kids migrate to Central.

yay! virgin post. haha so are you guys internationals? i am in engin as well and i was recommended to stay in the north, esp in baits cos its the nearest to the bus stop providing bus services to central. but i have already submitted my housing application so i hope its the right choice!
as much as we take only 2 engin courses, we will still spend most of our time there because its very time consuming right?
Hill ones are nice from the pictures, but google earth tells me that they're quite far away from anything and everything

pleetf,

Who recommended Baits? It's the most isolated dorm of all...
And it's 2 classes out of about a total of 8 classes you would be taking during the year.. you're definitely going to spend a lot more time at central. As for hill, it's not that far from central (just a 3~5 min walk), and it's near the gym so it's a decent location.
If you put Baits as your number 1 choice, you're getting for sure, so make the best out of it. Just take note, when you leave your room for your first class, take everything that you need for the whole day, because you're not going back home until you're done. And enjoy the "drunk bus" :)
