So my friend and I both got into Irvine, and, if we both go, want to room together. Is that possible (for freshman)?

i would wander as much to say you can... but i would prefer not to. i'd rather get random person hope that we see eye to eye on things to do and not to do and become good friends and meet new friends through each other.

What if I have already picked out a roommate?

If you and a friend who is also entering UCI want to room together, you can make such a request on the Personal Information Form. To do so, BOTH of you must indicate a desire to live in the same community and you must mutually request one another on your respective Personal Information Forms. You must also respond consistently to questions regarding coed or single-gender suite living and preferred themes. While every attempt will be made to honor your roommate request, placement is not guaranteed.

So yes. :) That's what I might do too.

No, I do want to make new friends; I don't anticipate clinging to a hs friend for four years, it just seems like a fun thing in the whole new experience of college.

Thanks a lot Poisonary, that helps a bunch!

can we indicate that we want to live in the same community but different dorms?..

I think if two people wanted to live in the same community, they'd just write similar things on their form but not specifically list that they want each other as a roommate. Though that may end up making them roommates anyway.

ohh ok good. because i dont wanna dorm with my friend.. but still wanna be in the same community~ lol
