Housing

is housing done by first-come-first-served? I just got off the waitlist and I really don’t want crappy housing.

My friend, whose sister is at NYU, told me that students with more AP credits get housing priority; is this true? (rofl I thought this was hilarious when she told me. but her sister only had one AP class so my friend says she got screwed)

Lmao that sounds so illogical. I just know ED kids get priority and it’s probably first-come first-serve as well by who sends in their deposit earlier which allows them to be placed sooner thus if you get placed sooner therefore there’s more options available.

Does NYU allow for room mate requests? My S wants to room with a friend from HS.

Yes they do. But both have to have it on their form.

God I’m worried about my roomate. I’m like totally buggin’ lol. I just hope we get along.

Have students already declared housing preferences online?

is there such thing as a 3-person suite?

I heard that waitlisted students have a later date than June first to register. and also, they do the housing for all students at the same time, so everyone has an equal chance of getting their first choice.

My signed up for housing last night. One of the pages he showed me said that students will find out their dorm on August 3rd. I hope everyone gets what they want. I was surprised I needed to put $1000 for deposit. I put $300 deposit when he accepted.

A couple of weeks ago I was taken off the waitlist but I just sent in my Candidates Reply today. I have my netID and email and everything but I cant request Housing so Im assuming that they will need to process the reply first.

But my question is that will I not get to choose my housing and just get stuck with whatever is left because I doubt it will be processed by June 1st…Or do they take into account that I was waitlisted…?
