I have enrolled into Uva. I am trying to decide what my housing preference will be. McCormick or Hereford college are the two i am deciding between. What is everyone else selecting and also what are the odds of actually getting into a residential college your first year?

do some research on the UVA forum......

Do McCormick.

Alderman all the way, Suite Style is sooo much better instead of the old hallway style.

Diagreeeeeeeeeeeee

Disagreeeeeee*

For a transfer... how far away are Faulkner, Lambeth, and Gooch/Dillard from Monroe Hall (for McIntire courses).

Thanks.

Take Lambeth if you can. Faulkner/Copeley is unfortunately a North Grounds location; here's my roomate's reaction, which he published in the cav daily:

"My week began with an e-mail from Cole Spencer, director of Student Housing, telling me that next year I will be living on Mars.

That is, Copeley.

At first I was really excited because of Copeley's proximity to the Law School, the North Grounds Recreation Center and other places that have nothing at all to do with undergraduate life at the University of Virginia. I could send postcards to my friends at Lambeth that say "Greetings from Fabulous West Virginia" and take Amtrak to class every day. Not to mention the wall to wall vomit colored carpeting and forward-thinking 1960s architecture."

=D

Gooch/Dillard is on the opposite side of grounds from McIntire as well. Lambeth is about a 10-15 minute walk. or a 2 minute bus ride.

For tranfer too,....... does anybody know anything about Bice. Is it worth choosing it if you are a McIntire student? Living conditions and how far are the dinning halls?

Thanks in Advance

P.S. Toph, whats your major?

El,

Commerce...

And thanks for the reply hoosfun. :)

Bice is close to central grounds - but I doubt they have any openings there for housing. . . It was renovated a couple years back and is really nice so it is a popular choice with many students. You'd probably have more luck getting housing in Lambeth.
