Housing

Anyone get the date for when we get to pick our rooms?

bump for help

mid-may. week or two after may 6 deadline

how do u “pick rooms”… do u actually like go to dorms and look at which room u want…? o.O

Err…we get out of school in may. lol I meant for continuing students…sorry for any confusion?

^
yea i know. im an continuing
but how does it work? lol im living off campus next year… but didn’t know u could pick rooms lol

isn’t that how it works? they said we’d get a date in april to go and choose our rooms in that dorm, but there hasn’t been a date shown on the housing site yet…

Yeah, I was wondering about the same thing. I’m guessing they’ll send us an email eventually about our times and when we’ll be able to choose. It must be soon though since I got an email confirming my transfer form a triple to a double (yay!). They’re working on it, I guess.

WHAT??? I want to transfer to a double…is it too late to email them?

I don’t think it would be too late. It doesn’t hurt to try!

Where can we contact housing about getting into the dorms? I applied for housing but didn’t accept it… I kind of want it back now.

wait how did you get an email telling you you were transferred to a double ? i thought offers were only given in the summer

I’m a continuing student so we got our offers already.
I’m beginning to think that they’re going to let us “choose” in late april/early may. Maybe they wanted to distribute the freshmen first?

Thing lies. I think CalBear might have been reading the same thing I was…if you ask for a transfer, they’ll only do it during the summer or so it says on the pdf

Last year, room draws were done online - you get a time and then you just choose one using housingportal. I believe this was in late April. They’re kinda slow.

Also, some people get transfers because 1) they try to fill mini-suites with older students first and some people get offered a minisuite and then reject it so they offer that to another student who previously got offered housing in the halls. This happened to several people I know. 2) they have plenty of doubles left for the freshmen, I believe if you annoy them enough, you can probably get transferred to one.
