to apply for housing, do you just have to go to the link and click accept or is there anything else? i guess im just worried because i barely had to do anyting

No, that’s it. It’s not really an application, because as an incoming freshman you are not only guaranteed housing, but are also required to live on campus (before everyone jumps down my throat about this like they do every time, yes, I am aware there are exceptions if you are a commuter student, although to the best of my knowledge, that is less that 1 percent of the freshman class). You also have no input on picking a roommate who doesn’t smoke, nor do you take a personality quiz like you might at other schools to place you.

Also, ND is well aware that there is TONS of stuff for you to do right now, and buttloads of forms and such. For everything past accepting your place and sending in your deposit, it’s very difficult to screw up too badly. ND will just send you a thousand emails and 1500 letters to your house until you figure it out.

Very well-said kevdude!^^^^

Random assignments and roommate matching have the same success ratio, it really doesn’t matter. Why take the time to answer 30 questions when you can have the same success having a computer randomly assign you? Living with a roommate is give-and-take, just hope for a good room/dorm and have fun. Congrats mantis609!

when do we find out our room assignment and roomates?

Sometime in July, if I remember correctly. You’ll get a letter informing you of the date the announcements will be made, and you’ll be able to check online on that date. A hard copy of your assignment will subsequently be mailed to you.
