is housing really limited at UCI?

I got into irvine through my appeal and i JUSt SIR'd. they said that housing was still available but it's first come first serve. does anyone know what are the chances of getting housing for people that do it really late?

and does anyone know if I request to room with a friend that was guarenteed housing that it would up my chances?

Where would I live if i don't get housing on campus? that would suck .

all freshman are guaranteed housing, so even if you don’t get your first choice, you’ll get in somewhere. :)

noo not irvine. they said housing is not gaurenteed and its first come first serve .

I’m not sure who said Housing at Irvine is not guaranteed, but the website and every source I’ve seen says it is.

[UC Irvine Student Housing - Prospective Student - for Freshmen](http://www.housing.uci.edu/prospective/freshmen.asp)

“UCI guarantees two years of housing to all freshmen who are single, under the age of 25, who are enrolling in fall quarter 2009, and who meet the housing application and contract-return deadlines.”

There is the little mess of going through the appeal, but because you were accepted later, I’m sure you have a different deadline for submitting the applications.

I called the housing office yesterday and the guy said people accepted thru appeals are currently on the housing waiting list. He said we’ll be notified when housing is available and when to start the housing process. As of now can just apply for housing.
