Housing

So housing assignments came out today. Where is everyone?

I'm in Lawrence house.

^^Lawrence is good…very close to everything.

I live in the Quad, and if I ever forget anything, that’s it. I’m not going back to get it. (Except for a take home test, once, but that’s another matter…)

My D is in Scales so a single as a first year - how does that work in terms of getting connected?

Im in Washburn…

I’m in Sessions!

I’m in Albright! :D

I’m in Ravenclaw!

Overwhelmedma, I wouldn’t worry too much about it. Scales is a very social house. :)

Haha, TD! There is actually a Facebook group that lists all the reasons why Smith is actually Hogwarts. ;)

Hah smithiegr now I’m worried about that  I’ll go with social as friendly  :)

Cygne, that’s funny, I’ll take a look at that…unless it’s a “no parents” kind of thing.

I have had visions of the Sorting Hat taking housing apps and calling out names of Houses.

“Scales is a very social house.” Uh…yeah. Roger that.

McPucks, I always liked Lawrence from the outside, not that I knew anyone from it, and I like the micro-location a lot. Washburn was D’s de facto “sister” house and she had several friends there.

I had many friends in Lawrence, spent a lot of time there, but most of them have graduated. Some of their housemates thought I also lived in their house. (I didn’t spend as much time there my senior year and scared a first-year when she found me in the hallway early one morning.)

It’s one of the more run-down houses, but its well-loved. Some of the rooms on the first floor were used by the house mother and the faculty member who lived in the house many years ago - and they still look much the same.

What do you guys think of Washburn!? Word on the street is that it has a grand piano… that sounds lovely :)

I’m in Park! Does anybody know anything about it?

Overwhelmedma, that’s actually what I meant. Lots of extroverts in that house, doors always open, etc. I get very little work done in my house, so I’d probably get none done if I lived in Scales.

I will be living in Gillett House. I’m so excited. Do you guys know what’s Gillett like?

Thanks smithiegr - she was definitely looking for a place where people were social but not big partiers so it sounds like a fit. I assume you get your work done somewhere :)

I’m also in Washburn, it’s a very old house and seems very nice.

McPucks, my daughter has also been placed in Lawrence. She is delighted. FYI, on the Class of 2013 Facebook site, there is a link to a Lawrence Firsties (first year students) site. The Lawrence site is probably accessible on Facebook directly, as well.

I lived in Lawrence last year, though I’ll be living in Talbot this year.

Lawrence is fabulous :)
