Housing?

How do you pay for housing by semester? That doesn't seem to be an option on the "What I Owe" page right now. Anyone know what to do?

The WIO page lists a certain amount as “Total Amount” and a certain amount as “Due”. That “due” is the part that is part of a payment plan.

See this page to see how the numbers are being generated:

If you simply pay the “due” amount, you are in the 6 payment plan. If you manually increase it, you could pay 1/2 (by semester) or all in one lump sum.

The first installment isn’t due til October 1

Thanks Why Two Kay and MidwestMom2Kids_! My parents want me to pay now for some reason. :)

How would I manually increase the “due” part to pay for one semester? If I pay off the “due” amount for now, will I log back in and find the same amount again, so I can pay that amount 3 times? I hope that made sense.

No, don’t do it like that.

Start here: <a href=“Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request”>Sign in with your UT EID - Stale Request;

Look under Total Billed and Paid By Semester and find the number under Fall 2009 - Owed. For example, mine is $4011.86 (it shows as negative because you owe it). [Here’s a [screenshot](<a href=“ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs”>ImageShack - Best place for all of your image hosting and image sharing needs)]

Then on the What I Owe page, enter that number in the Pay Amount box and pay it. You should see the numbers on the Housing and Food Billing and Payment History page decrease to zero for all the Fall 2009 columns. The transaction will appear at the bottom of the page also.

Another question: How do you pay housing bills with finanicial aid? That doesn’t seem like an option on “what I owe” page.

It automatically did so for me when the money was released.

Us too. My daughter had a small outside scholarship arrive at UT after her tuition bill had been paid and UT labeled it as a financial aid payment and automatically applied it toward her October 1 housing, so the Oct 1 bill is smaller.

If you don’t pay until around october 1st, how does the dine in dollar thing work? do you still have a card where you can use the money to eat? what about bevo bucks?

Your dining dollars and bevo bucks are available for you to use now. Just use your UT ID

oh okay thank you so much!

Not sure if it was a mix up, but last year when my niece paid, you also got some financial aid to partially cover housing. The financial aid (scholarship) was to pay 50% of the housing cost. My niece thought she had to pay up front and the scholarship would pay her back. In fact, that scholarship said they’d pay for the 1st semester and she’d pay for the 2nd semester; “Giving her time to save money up during the year”. Definitely confusing. Well, my niece paid the who first semester housing cost, thinking she’d get reimbursed. The scholarship paid the who 1st semester housing thinking my niece would pay the 2nd semester. UT took all the money and said; “You’re paid for the entire year. Thanks”. My sister had to spot my niece a little money because she used a lot of her savings for the housing, but it actually worked out good not having to worry about housing for the entire year. So, not sure if you can pay for the entire year, or if the screw up was enough for UT to just say: Screw it; it’s too difficult to correct. But she did wind up paying for the entire year. They may have just put the extra for that semester in an escrow type of account, and pulled it automatically the next semester, but for her concerns, it was already paid.
