My name on there is forevergreen14 so you guys can feel free to add me.

I heard they’ve been screwing up a lot with housing assignments. I didn’t get mine because they like lost one of my papers or something so now I have to resend it. To be quit honest I’ve been questioning whether or not I made the right choice with USF. If things don’t go well this upcoming year there’s a good chance I’ll transfer to UCF.

usfgirl, I think every student questions whether they made the right decision or not selecting a college, I guess it is just a natural thing with everyone and I’m sure things will go fine for you at USF. Screwups and glitches in assigning dorm rooms seems to be common at all colleges too, hopefully you and USF housing will sort things out in short order… problems like this seem to be part of the “college experience.”

Blackrose, You may end up in the engineering llc yet after all the housing assignment dust settles, who knows!

But yea as far as Housing is concerned…They haven’t finshed assigning all of the Fall and haven’t even started on the summer. My parents will be out of the country when Fall starts so we are trying to find out if I can keep my summer dorm for fall to avoid me having to move myself. The best thing to do is call the Housing department with your USF id handy and ask exactly what needs to happen for your housing contract to go through…

yeah hopefully. but i’m so excited to go to USF now that it doesn’t really matter that much to me. i met some awesome people on Uconnect who will be in castor hall. so if i don’t change it is what it is. i think i’m going to be so busy with the school activities that i will be there very little. but thanks for the optimism.

@USFgirl
I added you on Uconnect. I’m CamiLou. (anyone can add me if they want). also i think u will like USF better once u actually go there and get involved and know people. :)

Remedy: With the new mandatory housing for freshmen policy, the housing department had to stick people anywhere they could so it’s basically a mix of upper and underclassmen everywhere. They didn’t have the room for restrictions this year.

^Alright! Juniper-Poplar is right by the engineering buildings too. Was on campus yesterday–wow there is a lot of new construction going on with new academic buildings and athletic facilities. USF is really growing and getting better.

I don’t know if this was already asked but are they assigning rooms for fall 2011 yet? I have my application in but I have to get an immunization shot? I’ll be getting that this week, I hope I didn’t get screwed out of on campus housing

Hey I was recently accepted and had some questions about housing. I don’t think I can survive in a community style bathroom so I would have to get suite style right? Also what are the best suite style dorms? I know Juniper is super popular so I probably won’t get it considering I haven’t applied for housing yet, so what are the next best? Are they all relatively the same?

All I can say about that ^ is don’t knock it until you try it. The bathrooms in Castor and Beta are far more sanitary than any other place I’ve seen because it’s cleaned every day, sometimes twice a day.

lol yeah Idk I just hate community styles. I have tried it though (stayed with my friend). I hate the fact that you have to get ready in there or walk in my towel to my room, and you Have to do your hair in ther and there’s no where to put yourwash cloth besides on the counter… idk they are just annoying :/

I was in Castor my freshman year and had no problem with the dorm. It is well maintained, clean and spotless, and for a community dorm very quiet. Castor and Beta are very close to nearly everything. I was in Maple suite-style dorm my soph year and it is great too. It is hard to go wrong with any of USF’s dorms.

I have a housing question! My son was accepted to USF honors, FSU honor and UF regular. FSU was ruled out as too far away. We visted UF and USF and he liked UF more - probably due to the older campus. It was nice.

However, this week we received a financial aid package from USF and it’s great. He would have to take a student loan and I would have to pay between 3K and 4K a year out of pocket. That’s really nice.

In the mean time, UF is dragging it’s feet on getting the financial aid notifications out and I don’t expect much. If we decide to go the most economical route, is it too late to get on campus housing for a freshman? Have we totally screwed everything up?

Not at all. In fact, the cheapest area is usually available up until last minute because it is low demand. Check out the layouts and prices for the Andros area (all suite-style) at [Housing & Residential Education - University of South Florida](http://www.housing.usf.edu)
Epsilon, Delta, Kappa, Theta, and Lambda are usually reserved for freshmen.
