Housing

I was accepted into the faculty of agricultural and environmental sciences, but I plan to transfer to the faculty of science after freshman year, as the freshman classes are the same. am I required to live in the Macdonald campus housing, or can I live on the downtown campus and commute to classes in order to avoid the hassle of moving after freshman year? I'm a US student, if it matters

The daily commute to Ste. Anne would be a lot worse than the move.

my concern is that since i, no doubt about it, plan to transfer to the faculty of science after freshman year, I would like to make friends in the area in which I would actually be living for the majority of my college career. I mean no offense to those who plan to major in agricultural and environmental sciences, but I would like to have a consistent group of social peers throughout my four years. especially because i would need to find off campus housing for sophomore year, I would like to befriend those who would be living downtown for the next 3 years.

I’m fairly certain that i met a guy once who was living in upper rez and commuting to Mac for his ag. classes, and he said it wasn’t too bad. Also, if the freshman courses are the same, can’t you just take them at downtown campus anyway?

If you can do it (live downtown, I mean), I would go for it.

nobody is required to live anywhere, but why are you taking your first year at MacDonald if you don’t want to stay?
